Laura-PrincipalLaura Wilson B.A. M.A. Dip ISTD – trained with the I.S.T.D. since the age of two to eighteen, progressing to the Advanced grades in Ballet, Tap, and Modern and completing all Jazz dance awards. She then returned to study dance and dance teaching with the I.S.T.D post university.

Whilst studying for her A-Levels, Laura underwent training in London’s Studio Centre, was accepted onto a prestigious advanced performance course directed by Wayne Sleep, and she enjoyed playing leading roles in theatrical performances with the English National Youth Ballet and S.T.A.G.

Whilst studying at the University of York (2003-2007) Laura completed her teaching qualifications and introduced Street Dance to the York University Dance Society which she taught alongside Jazz and Salsa between 2004 and 2007. Laura took over as President of the Dance Society (2005-2006) expanding its repertoire from three to ten weekly classes, enrolling more members than any other society at the university. She took groups to compete in nationwide competitions enjoying huge success in hiphop, jazz and tap categories, and she facilitated huge fundraising shows to audiences over 2000 deep, raising a total of over £25,000 between 2004 and 2007.

Laura currently teaches Street dance, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Zumba for idance, the dance and fitness school she founded in 2007. Since university she has also become a fully certified Zumba instructor. Her vast experience and qualifications, coupled with her passion for dance and infectious enthusiasm, make Laura an excellent teacher and ambassador of dance!

Laura is a qualified First Aider. Herself and all idance teachers hold up to date Advanced CRB checks.
